What is a Duathlon?
First, it's fun! A duathlon is a combination of running, biking and running. After the first run you will 'transition' onto your bike (which you will find in the Transition Area). You will then ride the bike course, return your bike to the Transition Area and run once more.
Race Distances:
Short Course for Ages 6-8 - 1/4 mile run/0.5mile bike/1/4 mile run
Long Course for Ages 9-12 - 1/2 mile run/2 mile bike/1/2 mile run
All run & bike courses are mostly off-road on hard-packed gravel trails.
Medals awarded to all finishers.
No age group awards.
Race number and pins will be provided to you at packet pick-up.
You MUST have a helmet on and FASTENED at all times when on the bike.
MANDATORY MEETING: 5:45pm at race start line, by the transition area
All participants MUST attend a short pre-race meeting with their parents or guardian. This is a final opportunity to go over the race plan and answer any last minute questions.
Have a great race and have FUN.
